Pedophile jailed for lifeVideo trapped Australia's worst

The article Pedophile jailed for life is about a man Geoffrey Robert Dobbs. Geoffrey Robert Dobbs is a 48-year-old man who may have as stated in the article preyed on more than 50 girls. Dobb's crime was unveiled by accident when he left a video of him molesting a young girl in his video camera after leaving it at a Melbourne shop for repairs. It was found that 150 girls were molested before Dobbs purchased his first video recorder in 185 and he has committed an extremely large amount of molestations since then.

It is a serious indictable offence to take part in a sexual act with a child between the ages of 10 and 16, if you are more than two years older than the person is, regardless of consent, this law was broken by Dobb's on numerous occasions.

Buy cheap Pedophile jailed for life-video tapped australia's worst term paper

In terms of Human rights, Dobb's has also broken two articles stated in Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The first one is article number five which states that 'no one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment', and the second one is article number 1(a), which states that 'no one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home, or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation.' This article was broken when Dobb's invaded peoples privacy by secretly videoing young girls, in public places or at his home whilst molesting them.

In Dobb's case he did not commit the disgusting crime on one occasion, but he repeatedly committed the crime on various young girls. His sickening actions seem to have become an incurable habit.

Although Dobb's has committed these crimes the court has not yet attempted to rehabilitate him. Some people may argue that due to Dobb's behaviour being repetitive over a long period of time, it too late to try and rehabilitate him. On the other hand some may oppose by saying that he has not yet had the chance to rehabilitate and get his life back on track therefore how do we know whether or not he can change his ways?

District Court Judge Kerry O'Brien said he was certain that Dobb's would re-offend if ever released. " I am satisfied that if an indefinite sentence is not imposed members of the community will be at risk of serious harm." He said. The Judge backed his statement up by saying that the court heard that Dobb's obsession might have continued in jail, as newspaper photographs of young children were found hidden among his legal instructions. Clearly Dobb's assaulting young girls has become an irreversible obsession and there is a very slim chance that he will never fully recover.

After reading Animal Farm, I agree with the statement, "There is no such thing as Utopia.", to a large extent. There are many aspects of the novel which support my view. These aspects of the novel are problems faced in the achivement of the Utopia Old Major wished for.

One such aspect would be the natural aggression of animals towards each other. The dogs' aggression towards the rats after Old Major's speech is a good example of the natural aggression between animals. This would deter the formation of an Utopia as the animals would not be able to live in harmony with each other. Even if an effort is made to change this natural aggression between animals, it would not succeed as this natural aggression between animals is part of their nature and can not be easily changed. This aggression between animals would mean that they would not be able to live in harmony as wished for by Old Major in his speech. This would mean that the Utopia Old Major wished for would be highly infeasible to be achieve.'

Another aspect of the novel which supports my view would be the inequality of the animals. Some animals, such as the pigs, were considered more superior than others . An example of the pigs' superiority would be where the pigs claim the milk and the apples solely for themselves. This inequality of animals is caused by the different levels of intelligence of the animals. The pigs, born more intelligent than the other animals, began to take a leadership role in Animal Farm. Later in the story, their leadership turns into tyrannical rule and they start to treat the other animals unfairly. The nature of the certain animals which include their level of intelligence is infeasible to change. This inequality of the animals is anti-utopian and does not support the idea of Utopia.

Another major difficulty in achieving Utopia would be the corruption of ideals. This is caused by the greed of the pigs and is allowed due to the ignorance of the animals.

Help with essay on Animal Farm

In the earlier part of the story, Old Major tells the animals about what is later known as Animalism. In his speech to the animals, he tells them to obey the rules which he has set down. However, as pigs rise to power, all of the rules are disobeyed and the ideals of Old Major are forgotten. The pigs even changed the commandments to suit their own interests. The pigs also become greedier and forget all Old Major's sayings. This corruption of ideals is caused by the greedy nature of the pigs.

These aspects of the novel are part of the animals' inborn characteristics and would not be able to be changed easily. Therefore, a major difficulty in achieving Utopia would be the inborn differences between animals.

Another anti-utopian aspect of the novel would be the fact that some animals do not work at all yet they are able to enjoy the fruits of labour of the other animals. Such animals include Mollie the mare and the cat. This is due to the so-called equal distribution of food among the animals. This implemented measure is impractical and instead of achieving its aim of building an Utopia, it is anti-utopian.

Imagine, it's in the early years of the 100's and you live in a small country in Europe. You have some allies and some enemies, but you're OK with that. Then, sometime in April, your country has been under attack, killing 75% of your population. You (among about 100 survivors) are driven out into the desert with no bread or water. Everyone you knew was brutally murdered, and every single one of your relatives is now dust. But now, you're in America, land of the free, home of the brave. You turn to politics and it's going great for the next 0 years. Then you look up what happened to your precious city. You question the politics about it and they don't know one single thing about it. This upsets you. You also hear that America hasn't accepted it. Why? Because the opposite country is denying it. How you feel? Angry right? Well, that's how many Armenians feel about it too. Turkey attacked them in 115, and even though we have MUCH evidence that this genocide happened, Turkey denies it. Well, how shall we make them accept it? Here are some ideas. The U.S does decide to recognize it. Turkey accepts their guilt, and U.S raid Turkey till they DO accept it.

Turkey had massacred 1.5 million people in Armenia because they were not Muslims. Armenians were among one of the first Christians ever, and Turkey did not want that. So in 1880, Turkey had attacked the Armenians, gruesomely murdering them in ways not humane. Some had they're skulls crushed by carriages, most were hung by nooses, and some were shot in front of jails. The Turks proudly posed for pictures with their victims, showing how inhumane they were.

Maybe it was jealousy that drove the Turkish to do such mad things, or maybe they had some quarrels in the past. The most told story was because Turkey was jealous of how much economy Armenia was making. Either way, that didn't stop the Turkish soldiers from brutally murdering innocent Armenians. The Armenian leaders were called to a meeting in Istanbul and all murdered there. Now the helpless people of the small country were to be next.

If the U.S would set aside Turkey's side of the story, maybe they would see what had really happened, because Armenia is in poverty now, for all it's money was gone to the people who had been murdered. If America does realize what happened, then Turkey would give all the money for the people murdered to Armenia, restoring to back to its beautiful old self again. Maybe taking a person who experienced the massacre would tell the truth.

Buy cheap It's Not Exactly Revenge term paper

If America raided Turkey, stripping of them of their lives, to feel what the Armenians felt, maybe they would then accept it, and feel the guilt that they (for certain) have held inside them for so long. Let them have a taste of the agony that we Armenians have felt for so long.

So there you have it, one barbaric massacre, one solution. Armenia is in need and we must do something to help them, we cannot let Turkey get away with something they claim did not do.

What is survival?Survival is the art of surviving

your life until you can get out of the situation. And

most importantly, survival is a state of mind. Survival

depends a great deal on a person's ability to withstand

stress in emergency situations. Your brain is without

doubt your best survival tool. It is your most valuable

asset in a survival situation.Like Levi, Ruth Kluger

discussed about the mechanism of survival and the social

structure in the camp."It occurred to me that this

woman treated us as inferiors because she had been in

Auschwits longer than we" (6). Though having great

animosity for Liesel in Vienna, but for her own sake,

Ruth decided to hang out with Liesel in the camp because

Liesel was there first. As an earlier inmate, Liesel

not only provided Ruth the facts of death and the ritual

conducts in the camp, which might have given Ruth some

tips of survival, but also protected Ruth from "the

runners" ().The social differences between the

prisoners were magnified when food supply was decreased.

The longer one had been in the camp, for most cases

meant the higher level in the class hierarchy one was,

which in turn meant the more there was for one to eat.

Besides all the factors that I have mentioned above, I

personally think that the state of mind plays the most

important role in survival. In order for one to live in

any kind of situation, one must adapt first. However,

adaptability takes courage, encouragement, hope, and

acceptance.I am certain that I know this feeling very

well for I am still in the process of adapting.I had

never been distant from my family for long; however,

when I started college, I was coerced to live away from

home. Not only did I have to adapt to college life and

the new world, but I also had to deal with many

challenges in life.I was somehow depressed in my first

year in college.I often resented myself for choosing

UCLA and for not being able to adapt to a new

environment as quickly as I had expected.I was so

disappointed at everything that sometimes I thought I

would break down.Fortunately, Buddha gave me enough

strength to withstand any obstacles and a clear mind to

come up with some possible solutions to solve my

problem.Progressively, I started to accept the

environment which I had to live in and I also began to

encourage of myself.Moreover, with constant

encouragements from my significant one, dear friends

from home and at UCLA, a glare of hope sparkled.Even

though I am doing a little better this year, but I am

still trying to adapt to everything here at UCLA because

I believe that I can do much better if I am well

adjusted.Ruth Kluger and many other survivors of the

Holocaust were able to endure the horrendous experience

of the Final Solution not only because they knew the

tricks of survival in the camp, but also because of

their strong minds.

Prologue

"It's now or never, you either blow his head off, or get the hell outta here," Josh said, his terrified gaze moving back and forth to Michael and the victim. Glaring at Josh, Michael shouted, "Shut up, dork! I know what to do, man, I am in control here..don't try to boss me around! I know what and when to do!" With that, he pushed Josh aside roughly, him ending up in a pile of hay. The victim, still unconscious. The midnight air was still, the place was deserted. But Michael wasn't alone.

From inside Michael's car, Arisa saw it all. Heard it all. Trembling, she checked her surroundings. Michael was still inside the old house. Grabbing her purse, she went out of the car, took off her heels and ran. Where to, she was unsure. Michael came out that very second and saw her running away. "Arisa! Arisa wait dammit, you're not getting away from me!" He shouted from far. Seconds later, he caught up with her, pushing her to the ground."Look, nothing is wrong..everything's fine..take my hand, I'll take you home..come on," Michael said, his tune of voice changing drastically. When Arisa refused to budge, and her gaze rested at the old house, Michael got irritated.

Glaring at him, Arisa demanded,"Why, Michael? Over a stupid thing, you hit them both? I saw it at Michael, I saw it all. Leave me alone from now on or I'll-"

"Or you'll what? Kill me? Hoho, lil Rissy tryina act all tough eh? Well you can't go away from me, dear Rissy. This is me Rissy, the great Michael Kogen."

Arisa started to feel faint. The world, suddenly spinning. Her breaths, suddenly short. Michael was alarmed. Fumbling for her purse, she rummaged inside, for a pill. She saw the look on Michael's faceconfused.

"What's happening, what's wrong with you?" His voice, suddenly strained. Michael snatched the small bottle of pills and read what was written on the outside. Boy, was he shocked.

Introduction

It was only a few minutes past seven on a Saturday night. Nineteen-year-old Arisa-Shay Sheridan shivered as she faced the frigorific blast of wind blowing off the lake. She regretted putting on a short flimsy dress with only her favorite Roxy denim jacket over it.

Squinting at her watch, she sighed softly. She had decided to take a circuitous route to her boyfriend Michael Kogen's birthday party, since she realized that she had left home early. She continued walking at a slow pace at the walking path of the park that surrounded the lake.

She did not have anything for Michael, did not buy him a present. She guessed she should feel a little bad or guilty in some ways but she could not. She knew Michael. He never liked gifts, presents or anything of the sort. Let alone birthday parties. It was so unlike him, to have one. Something must be going on, she thought to herself. She took a quick look at her watch again and this time quickened her pace. Her boots made soft thudding sounds as she jogged her way out of the park and toward a junction no nearer than twenty-five yards.

She reached his place fifteen minutes later than she had planned to. Not that it mattered to anyone. Not even Michael.

There may never be another novel written quite like Mark Twains Huckleberry Finn. It combines adventure, suspense and comedy to create a most accurate account of the times. Huckleberry Finn warms the heart of the reader by placing an ignorant white boy by the name of Huckleberry Finn in some strange situations, having him tell his remarkable story the way it streams into his own eyes. In the novel there is a lot of superstition. Some examples of superstition in the novel are Huck killing a spider which is bad luck, the hair-ball used to tell fortunes, and the rattle-snake skin Huck touches that brings Huck and Jim good and bad luck. Superstition plays an important role in the novel Huck Finn.

In Chapter one Huck sees a spider crawling up his shoulder, so he flipped it off and it went into the flame of the candle. Before he could get it out, it was already shriveled up. You do that when youve lost a horseshoe that youve found, instead of nailing it up over the door, but I hadnt ever heard anybody say it was any way to keep of bad luck when youd killed a spider.(Twain 5). Huck didnt need anyone to tell him that it was a bad sign and would give him bad luck. Huck got scared and shook his clothes off, and turned in his tracks three times. He then tied a lock of his hair with a thread to keep the witches away. In chapter four Huck sees Paps footprints in the snow. So Huck goes to Jim to ask him why Pap is here. Jim gets a hairball that is the size of a fist that he took from an oxs stomach. Jim asks the hairball; why is Pap here? But the hairball wont answer. Jim says it needs money, so Huck gives Jim a counterfeit quarter. Jim puts the quarter under the hairball. The hairball talks to Jim and Jim tells Huck that it says. Yoole father doan know yit what hes a-gwyne to do. Sometimes he spec hell go way, en den agin he spec hell stay. De bes way is tores easy en let de ole man take his own way. Deys two angles hoverin roun bout him. One uvem is white en shiny, en tother one is black." (Twain 1). Jim uses the hairball to tell Huck his future and details about his father.

In Chapter ten, Huck and Jim run into good luck and bad luck. The good luck was Huck and Jim finds eight dollars in the pocket of an overcoat. After dinner on Friday, they are lying in the grass, then Huck ran out of tobacco, so he went to the craven to get some, and finds a rattlesnake. Huck kills it and curled it up and put it on the foot of Jims blanket. Huck says I made up my mind I wouldnt ever take a-holt of a snake-skin again with my hands, now that I see what had come of it. (Twain 5).He says this because that night Jim flung himself on the blanket and the snakes mate was there, and it bit Jim on the heel. Jim tells Huck to chop off the snakes head, then skin the body of the snake and roast a piece of it. He took the rattles off and tied them to Jim wrist. Jim said it would help him. Order your Analytic Writing Assignment for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead paper at affordable prices with cheap custom writing service!Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, by Tom Stoppard, is an intellectual adventure where events that do not seem to correlate often reveal meaningful observations about human existence."Whatever the features, words, and colours,

scattered on a page may be, the arrangement obtained always has meaning", has significance in this existential literary piece.Surrealism, a concept that can be applied to situations where reality is altered, is another important component of this play.

This quote can be applied to the coin game. The play opens with this game of chance where Rosencrantz tosses a coin into the air and it has landed on heads every

time.Guildenstern cannot seem to understand why this coin never lands on tails, a fact that challlanges the law of proability. He should have a 5050 chance of winning because there are only two sides to a coin, but after over eighty tosses he has not won once.Superficially, this game is a pointless activity that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern engage themselves in to fritter their meaningless lives away, but through surrealism, their reality is altered by this unexpected conclusion when Guildenstern never wins. This existentialistic ideal pinpoints how man often questions the laws that govern the universe, which refers back to the law of proability that Guildenstern contemplates during this inane game. Help with essay on Analytic Writing Assignment for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

Another example where this quote can be applied is the question game.Rosencrantz and Guildenstern ask each other a series of questions that range from identity inquiries, to the existence of God, to the purpose of anything within human understanding.Their dialouge here is quick and their range of questions jump instantly from one topic to another. On the surface, this game holds no meaning, but figuratively, it could represent the endless confusion and transitory desires that all men experience

internally.Surrealism can be seen through the existentialisic motif that personal expericence is the basis for all human comprehension. Here Rosencrantz and

Guildenstern are altering their reality by questioning every aspect of life and discovering new things about themselves.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern uses these different methods of entertainment to alter their reality through questions and observations they make about life. One may not be able to see these deep intellectual statements that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern make through these absurd leisure engagements, but there is more to life than what one percieves it to be. There always exists meaning behind ever little aspect of our lives, no matter how distorted the arrangement may seem to be.

November , 147 On this pivotal date, the United Nations ruled in favor of the partition of Palestine into Jew and Arab states. The Arabs flatly rejected the intrusion on their sovereignty, and war was waged in 148. The subsequent Arab defeat was devastating; their Jewish adversaries protected UN-endowed territory and gained 50% more land. A Palestinian state has yet to be attained…

The battle between Jews and Palestinians has ebbed and flowed to the present. The Israeli state's powerful military machine grapples regularly with Palestinian insurgents in 00. Palestinian radicals, in their quest to vanquish Israel from the land they once occupied, have resorted to suicide bombings in the face of insurmountable military odds.

The Palestinian people are a nation without a state.

The legal definition of state is a territorially bound sovereign identity. To expound, a state must have distinct boundaries (territorially bound) and must be the ultimate source of law within those boundaries (internal sovereignty). Furthermore, a state cannot exist if it is not recognized outside of its boundaries by other states (external sovereignty). This recognition is achieved through foreign policy and military defense. Obviously, the incoherent collections of Palestinians in and around Israel do not satisfy the legal criteria of a state.

Do my essay on state CHEAP !

In the general usage of political science, state usually refers to organizational units, institutions, and individuals that perform the political functions for a national territorial entity. It is in effect referring to what most people think of as the "government". The Palestinian nation, with its plethora of incongruent leaders each striving for a goal (destruction of Israel, establishment of a state on the land they once occupied, etc) through different means, does not have a political system that wields power worthy of "state" designation. There is no organized institutional machinery to make or carry out political decisions.

Many complexities must be realized to satisfy the above definitions of "state". For political sociologist Max Weber, the already stringent criterion was still incomplete. The one function that distinguishes the state from all other organizations, said Weber, is "its monopoly on the legitimate use of force and coercion in the society." Succinctly, only the state may legally employ violence to enforce its decisions. While beleaguered Palestiniansunder the direction of certain leadersemploy violence with staggering regularity, they do not establish a state through any of it. Haphazard wielding of violent tactics means nothing without the preceding characteristics population, defined territory, government, and sovereignty.

The Palestinians are not alone. Rogue nations throughout the globe occupy spots within established states that are unsympathetic to their plight. Chechens, Kurds, Sikhs all of these people have found themselves displaced and/or swallowed up by another state of which they want no part. Political violence has become a hallmark of these ethno-territorial conflicts. In many different languages, legions without sovereignty repeat the immortal words of the great American patriot (or terrorist?) Patrick Henry "Give me liberty or give me death!"

The Lewis and Clark expedition was an early expedition of the vast wilderness of what is now the northwestern United States. The expedition was sponcered by the United States government and led by U.S. army officers, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. Meriwether was the explorer while William was the map maker. Lewis started the expedition on the fourteenth of May and picked up Clark in St. Louis. They departed St. Louis on the thirty-first up the Missouri River. Along the route they ran into many Indian tribes which Lewis traded with. They traveled by river for six months and set up camp for the winter. The winter was a harsh one but everyone survived. The crew lived off corn, beans, and buffalo meat bought from the Indians, who accepted only one thing for trade-metal for making barbs.

Winter passed, the river melted, and the crew started the trip again. Later in the expedition before they reached the Pacific, Lewis and most of his men felt sick. "At least three quarters of the party were sick except for the loathed roots, and dried fruits and berries there was no prospects for food."Eventually they recovered and set out again and on November 18, 1805, Lewis, Clark, and their crew reached the ocean. The men would stay on the pacific coast and wait for trading boats to arrive. The boats never showed up so they decided to make the journey back. In June, the crew traveled over the Rocky Mountains which was one of their most difficult tasks. Sometimes their food and water supply became scarce and climbing the mountain was difficult, but under the guidance of Lewis and Clark they made it through. The men ran into many more delimas on the path to home but they finally make it on September , 1806.

After they arrived home the crew parted and were all awarded greatly in land and military pay by rank. Upon returning "Lewis was to be appointed Governor General of all the Louisiana Territory." As Governor of Louisiana, Lewis was "undertaking again a mission whereupon other had failed; but the graveyear old held one outstanding advantage-he knew as much and probably more about Louisiana than did any other man living."From my readings in the book being Governor of Louisiana was going to be a tremendous task. They territory of Louisiana was without "a common language or accepted law."During this time as Governor, Lewis ran into some problems. One was getting funding from the government and the other was being criticized by the government. The government doubted Lewis's accounts of what was happening in his territory. Lewis was very sick when he decided he must travel to Washington to clear his name. Clark tried to talk him out of going until he got better but Lewis insisted. Lewis had made the trip to Washington a few times and it was an easy trip in comparison to his other expeditions. The easy trip to Washington would be his last. The people of the expedition to Washington run into a storm. Lewis, still being very sick decides he will ride out in front of the rest of the men to seek shelter at the next house. He finds shelter at the home of the Griner family where later on that night he would fall very ill and delirious. That night Lewis would end his own life.

Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in huckleberry finn, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your huckleberry finn paper at affordable prices with !The novel Huckleberry Finn is a very well crafted book.It has many lessons to be learned.Throughout this book we learn about slavery, racism in Twains time, the value of money, and how education matures the young Huck.I believe that this novel was very well written and was an overall fun book to read.Though it is good, you must come to understand racism, education and money.

In this novel Racism and slavery are a main issue.I do not believe slavery is right. The story of Huckleberry Finn shows several point of views of this, that Mark Twain chose to write about, a system that in his time no longer existed. Why would he do this?I view this as a representation on the condition of blacks in the United States even after the abolition of slavery. The black slave Jim, who Twain wrote to be a very moral person, was put into the hands of a white man. This makes the 'white' degraded in the novel. No matter how you view this, racism is a system that is immoral.Slavery then was hard to justify in Twain's time.Twain himself proves this when the white boy Huck is in turmoil over "going to hell."He is caught up in slavery's downfalls. He has helped a black slave, for this he is going to hell.I believe Twain wrote a controversy book.Slavery is a and can be a touchy subject but it is well written and gets a general point across.

Saying your racist is one thing.Knowing where you stand and why is another thing. If you look at Hucks education he fits the norm as someone who learns and develops. The young Huck who could be considered an outcast refuses to learn, but his growing relations with Jim mature the young boy quickly. In the beginning Huck is skeptical about learning; biblical and educational.Throughout this novel Huck comes to his own conclusions. He learns to read. Not only reading books, but also the people around him.He learns to read situations in a manner that proves helpful. This is contrasted very much to Tom Sawyer. As education is just as much a theme as racism, money seems to be pointed out many times by Twain.

Forty dollars comes up several times. In one instance a black boy, Jim, is sold for "forty dirty dollars." In another, a white trash male who is supposedly Hucks father is given forty dollars for being sick. What does this say about the value of a dollar?I don't believe this coincidence was an accident.Twain purposely put this in the book. Also Tom Sawyer gave Huck forty dollars to work towards helping Jim.Does this show that the forty dollars to help Jim should cancel out the forty dollars that Jim was sold for?To me, the money is senseless.Everyone should have kept their money and Jim could have kept his freedom.Twain's interpretation of money again proves slavery wrong.

Twain wrote a great novel. It is full of friendship, and hardship. As racism fills this novel with sin, watching a young boy mature and find solid ground with his own decisions cleanses that.He learns to love and be strong. The middleman Jim also matures. As money evolves throughout the story, Huck learns the value of a dollar.I think everyone including the readers of the novel come to a sensuous of dollar value. This heart filled novel would be a good choice for those looking for adventure.

Within the tragic play, Death of a Salesman, Willy Loman destroys himself trying to achieve a dream. Yet, the dream that destroys Willy is not one that he has chosen. Willy Loman does not choose this destructive dream because he does not know himself, Willy Loman does not choose a dream at all, one is forced upon him by society. This is the same "American Dream" discussed in the book the Great Gatsby and the corrupt nature it has conformed to. Within the book (Death of a Salesman) many forms of imagery help to express the futility and self destructive nature of the "American Dream."

Willy Loman spends the expanse of the play trying to achieve wealth, fame, and the like of others. These ideas epitomize the American Dream, to become a successful, well-liked businessman. Willys true dream, however, was very different from this. Throughout the play you can see evidence that Willy feels trapped by this dream that he feels obligated to fulfill. Society has dictated to Willy that the American Dream is the dream, and no other dream is acceptable. Because of this dictation, Willy abandons his true dream of living on his own, in the country, where he can support himself by farming, and living from the land. He then tries to peruse a dream of a successful businessman which he fails at.

Willy and Linda try to build their own version of the American dream with their family. In high school, Biff was the all-American boy as the captain of the football team. True to the myth of the all-American boy, girls and admiring friends surrounded him. Willy and Lindas lives are full of monthly payments on possessions that symbolize that dream a car, a home, and household appliances. The proliferation of monthly payments allowed families with modest incomes to hedge their optimistic bets against certain future success. The husband would surely advance to higher and better paid positions over time, but this doesn't happen to Willy. Rather Willy loses his position over time and turns to a corrupt way of retaining some wealth to support his family. Willys failure to succeed is partly due to his own personal flaws, but it is also due to the cultural values that shape his life. Willy is a salesman. His job requires that he appear confident and self-assured. This facade protects him from the inevitable indifference of reluctant buyers. Ironically, Willys facade is his first and most important product. He has to successfully sell himself before he can sell his product line. Willys primary problem is that he cannot separate himself from his professional role. Therefore, a buyers rejection of Willys sales pitch constitutes a personal rejection. It threatens Willys view of himself, as he mixes his personal identity with his professional role.

The things that are meant to happen in business are success, wealth and esteem. This is what Ben has achieved and done. Miller stressed his success and material reward in Ben. He does this by Ben repeating himself a lot,I walked into the jungle, and when I came out I was rich. But Ben also has emptiness in spite of his success. In the eyes of the audience, he has no real happiness. He to is caught in the corrupt "American Dream."

Factors influencing the labour market outcomes are broad and their powers and influence are, in some cases, concurrent. This means they can be considered to influence more than one particular sector and their influences over lap with the influences of another sector.

The most obvious and prominent are the influences of global and national political & economical factors, which are indirect influences. Where as Government legislation and intervention, discrimination in the workplace, and employee & employer Unions are all types of direct influences.

Indirect influences are those that contributeto the labour market as well as other factors. On a global scale, factors that affect the international economy, such as global currency, will eventually affect a particular nation that is financially strained. Through a political point ofview International conflicts or decisions could ultimately have an effect on other nations, for example, the well known attacks on September 11 and a war could have a negative impact on the labour market.

Buy custom Factors that influence labour market outcomes term paper

National factors are the best example of concurrent influences. Government legislations could be passed for a particular issue , but coherentlyaffects the labour market, for example, price floors and ceilings.

Although the Government can also be considered to be a direct influence by making or passing a specific legislation with direct comprehension of the labour market effects.

For example, the intervention of the law through things like Federal Awards, Enterprise Agreements and even the basic contract is binded by specific legal standards.

These legislations are implemented to cease and prevent cases of discrimination, unequal pay or sexual harassment in the workplace. In such cases, it is sometimes difficult for the employee ,who is subject to this unfairness, to confront their supervisors or boss, or sometimes even the Government. This may be due to a feeling of intimidation, or the lack of knowledge of the legal system and rights. This is why it is important to have unions.

Unions are organizations that help employees achieve advances in particular areas of work such as occupational health, pay equity, sex discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace. They are organised be employees and they represent workers when dealing with employers and the Government.

Discrimination against women is one of the most prominent and evolving issues of the world. The role of women in the workforce has changed dramatically over the years and women have come a long way since then. But discrimination is still dominant in the workforce and unions and associations have been established to support and equip women with all the knowledge that is needed.

One of these brilliant organizations is the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workforce Agency.

Favorite SongJust Mary

One of my favorite songs is Just Mary of her 1 album. The reason I pick that record is because she explain how she is looking for a soul mate and her songs are mostly about her life the way she lives or use to live. This particularly song is about if she can not trust anyone and how she live in the public eye and just want to be love for who she is and not her money. She just wants to fine the right one.

Mary J blige goes around to High School and talk about staying in school and how important education is now in life. She talks about why she dropped out of school and how she talking steps now to get her GED.

Mary J, Blige is a very expressive singer. One of her song entitles No More Drama she expresses her feeling toward the issue of today. She feels that the world has been through enough drama and its time for it to stop domestic violence, police brutality, religion, social and political issues. In her lyrics she states "she does not know why these things happen only god knows the answer".She also states "that it's up to up to choose whatever we win or loose".No More Drama

Order your - Lost and Found - paper at affordable prices !I had just gotten home from my friends house when I saw that the door in my kitchen was unlocked. Once I had locked it I went into the living room to lie down and watch some television. It was only shortly after I finally found a good show on, that I heard a crunching and slurping sound behind all of the other loud sounds. I lowered the volume, listened for a few seconds and then got back to my show. When the next show had started, the sounds started again but now there was another sound that I couldn't make out. This time I got up and walked to the kitchen where I was scared to death when I saw my cousin. I hadn't seen him for 1 years and here he was eating celery, drinking ginger ale and frying sausages in my kitchen ato'clock in the morning.

The last time I had seen him was just before he went to his favorite Belgian food restaurant, called L'actuel at 114 Peel Street. This time, unlike others, he went alone to L'actuel. He also took a credit card. If you know my cousin the rest falls right into place. The owner called us at around midnight to tell us that my cousin owes $500.00 to him and he had to work it off until every cent was paid back. After he worked it off he never came back until now. He is trying to explain but I can't understand a word over the noise of the celery…anyways, where were we… right. He scurried on to a plane to a desert island, which he wasn't allowed to tell me about. The reason and only reason why he went there was because they told him that he would get the return flight free of charge. In the desert, he stayed there for eleven and a half years because that was the only other place he could take. We thought he had died three years after he went missing. He explains his eleven and a half years there as a lifetime. The only things he had to eat were leaves and turnips. He says that of everything he didn't have for eleven and half years, the one he missed the most, was eating Belgian food at L'actuel. He tells me that he came to my house now, because L'actuel was closed and this was the closest place with food.

My cousin just went to sleep because he was extremely tired. I think that the one and only thing he will want to do tomorrow, is eat Belgian food at L'actuel. I think I will go with him.

The last time I had seen my cousin he was twelve (1) years old. He was thin and short. Now 1 years later, he has become a grown up. He has gained a little bit of weight, and has a mustache.

He has a very hearty appetite. He ordered almost everything off the menu. After all, it had been a long, long time since he had eaten at this restaurant. He could not decide what to order, so he ordered one of everything on the menu.

I really enjoyed seeing my cousin again after all those years. It was like a lifetime ago, but at the same time it seemed like he never left at all. We talked about our lives before he left, all the fun we used to have together, and all the games we used to play.

Pretty soon, it will be back to normal around here and I won't even know the difference or feel weird around him. We have a lot of catching up to do, but we will have lots of time to do so.

We will make new memories together and share them always.

"The customer is king." That simple, yet powerful, phrase describes today's approach of marketing. Whereas a few years ago, the marketing approach was more towards selling for a profit, today's approach is more towards maintaining that profit at whatever means. This means more interaction with the customer, interactions which aim at getting to know its customers better by building lasting alliances. This is the primary drive behind building relationship. Besides, it is relationship that greatly benefits today's companies, whether they belong to the goods or the service sector.

Of the many competing companies out there trying to grab a piece of the big, benefit pie, Wal Mart and Target are excellent examples of companies that rely on building strong relationships. These companies are not only big and renown, but they are direct competitors. Both engage each in a never-ending war on selling to customers, but most importantly, keeping that customer. Both companies do this by offering excellent service (whether it is in the store itself or online), affordable prices, customer feedback link, and the satisfaction of having that customer back real soon. Besides these similarities, both companies have several differences.

Besides the prices and the staff behind it, Wal Mart and Target have several differences that are aimed particularly on building relationship with customers. These differences can be viewed through their respective websites. Target.com offers just about every product that the traditional store offers with the convenience of ordering it from the web. In its homepage, one can view what's on sale as well as searching for the nearest store and navigating through their inventory. Also, Target.com has links to other sites such as Amazon.com as well as a link to apply for credit at Target. Walmart.com offers just about the same the service as its competitor. However, Walmart.com goes a step further. This company is proud of its gigantic inventory, as it implies upon viewing the homepage. Unlike Target.com that relies on Amazon.com for books (and much more), Walmart.com offers up to 500,000 titles from its own inventory. Also, Walmart.com is very updated in regard to the time of the year. The site recommends items for such upcoming events like graduations and Father's Day. Aside from this, Walmart.com has a link in which, people can get discounts and news regarding merchandise and suggestions upon typing your email address.

Upon viewing both websites, I have to the conclusion of considering Wal Mart's site the better of the two. Not that Target.com is bad, for it isn't, but Walmart.com offers just a little more. This, of course, is just a part of the service they provide. But on the long run, it can be the means of success that Wal Mart has been experiencing throughout these past years. For in the past, Wal Mart's success was primarily based on offering low prices and a variety of goods. Now, Wal Mart is maintaining that success by expanding its service (i.e. Walmart.com). Building relationship is the key to Wal Mart's service, the key to just about any other company in today's customer-oriented society.

Personal Goals

Recently I found myself at a crossroad in life.I needed to evaluate what I really wanted to accomplish and why.Should I continue on the same path I was on or take a side trip leading to new opportunities? After giving it much thought, I determined the latter choice coincided with my personal goal of attaining my bachelor degree. This paper will discuss my personal goals as they apply to my educational career with the University of Phoenix, as well as some of my strengths and weaknesses that will contribute to my success.

Returning to college, as a working adult, is a challenge for anyone.Up to this point, I had been successful obtaining positions that would normally require a bachelor degree.I was able to prove I was suitable for management positions in various capacities simply with hard work and perseverance. My last position exposed me to new areas of interest in technology and project management that I desiderated pursuing. After I became unemployed last year I found myself back in the job market. It had become much more competitive than I ever had known. However, this presented me with the opportunity to pursue my newfound interests. This is the primary objective that I hope to meet by attending the University of Phoenix.

Identifying strengths and weaknesses that will affect my success as a student requires more examination.I possess many attributes of strength that will help me achieve my goals, primarily my high work ethic and relentless quest for knowledge.I take pride in my accomplishments and ability to recognize opportunities.I believe in integrity and am adept at holding those who work with me to the same standard.Since the University of Phoenix exercises a team learning concept this virtue will make me an advantageous member of my group.Undoubtedly, my appetite for learning will provide me with the motivation I need to focus and complete the task I have assigned myself. In addition, I tend to be somewhat of a perfectionist. The beneficial result of this characteristic is that I am very detail oriented and strive for excellence.

Weaknesses are much harder to admit and determine when looking at oneself. My most inhibiting weakness is my innate affinity for travel. As I mentioned before, I have an insatiable desire to learn and experience new things. In the past, I have considered the world around me as my primary classroom.Invariably, my belief has been to broaden my life experience and education by being exposed to diversified environments.By prioritizing this as my means of education, I have slighted the obvious avenues of traditional learning.I now need to refocus this belief to encompass academia as one that is as equally important.

Overall, going back to school will afford me a new set of experiences and opportunities. The use of affirmations, such as "I am enthusiastic about learning," will steady my course toward my goal (Gross, 1, p. 66).By working on my recognized weaknesses and building on my stated strengths I will learn the discipline I need to fulfill my goal of obtaining a bachelor degree.Furthermore, I will be more successful in the pursuit of my new career interests.
