Our conclusions, based on hands-on experience, are supported and illuminated by research findings in recent literature. Michael Fullan (1) cites several studies of site-based-management projects, none of which found evidence of a strong connection between shared decision making per se and student learning. The point is not that participation in decision making is a bad thing, Fullan cautions, but that it is not focusing on the right thingsthe cultural core of curriculum and instruction. Participation may be necessary in order to build the habits of collaboration, which are essential, but it is not sufficient for improving student outcomes.

Robert Evans (16) explores the kinds of shared decision making that do create a link between adult empowerment, student learning, and leader behavior. Soon the generation realized there were no causes left, and all the good seemed to depend upon all that was bad.Disappointment and disillusionment led many of the generation to go from Hippies, to Yuppies, to Enron Executives.But for all those of the generation who truly felt what they believed, they were left feeling betrayed.

The Fifth of July is the day after the fireworks.The fireworks of the 60's ended and the 'morning after' had begun.How these people deal with that reality is what Wilson is exploring.Wilson confronts us as Ken confronts Wes at one point in the play.Wes tells a story of Eskimos who were starving to death living in an igloo and had frozen Caribou meat outside but no way of thawing it out.One heroic Eskimo went outside and produced a tremendous fart which thawed out the meat.The Eskimos are too repulsed to eat the meat and die of starvation.Ken screams at Wes that this was not heroic on the Eskimos part, it was stupid.They allowed themselves to die rather than "eat the fart-thawed meat and live."This is what Wilson is saying, release the past, forget the shattered dreams and involve yourself in the future.In the end of the play, this is the lesson that Ken learns; his future awaits him and he goes out to meet it.

The experiment was set up so that 10 seeds of each species with it's elaiosomes removed were placed in unheated water, then 10 of each species with elaiosomes removed were added to boiling water. This was repeated across five different groups along the beach.

The independent variable in this experiment is temperature, while the dependent variable is the seeds, the standardized treatment is the type of seed.

Experimental Treatments

The experimental treatment used in this experimentwas boiling water, the seeds were placed in the water just taken of the boil and then placed in the water for 0 minutes. The same volume of water were used for each group of seeds 00ml in group 5 this may have varied significantly over the five different groups.

The control treatment used in this experiment was unheated water, two groups of seeds were placed in water a room temperature and left for 0 minutes.

After 0 minutes the seeds were removed and placed in pitree dishes. They were then left for two weeks, there was no observation of the seeds during these two weeks.

Results

Table one lists the results that were gathered from the bench. There was a great deal of variation between groups, this has been attributed two error in experimental method and change in experimental conditions such as water temperature and time that the seeds were allowed to stay in the water as well as the natural variation within the species. 15 out of 50 Acacia seeds in the control treatment germinated with only 1 in 50 seeds germinating in the treated (heated) .of 50 Dillwynia germinated in control treatment while 7 in 50 germinated in the treated group. The first is the the history of Granny's Grandmother, Margaret Ross, she lived during the "Clearance" in 1854, when her sister was murdered. After that she married a man called James. I think that the writer made a link, between that Margaret and James and Maggie and James Fraser now. And between the murdered sister and the burned house. Which is the second explaination, the burning of the house of Maggie's Granny, Margaret. Her house and history are whole cleared then.

11. Summary/Plot

Maggie McKinley is on holiday at her granny's house in the glen. Granny tells a story of her grandmother. Then the Fraser Family are coming, they ask if Maggie is coming to play with James and Catriona, but she doesn't want to.

The next day she is going out early to go to the burn, there she mets James and together they walk bach home for breakfast. After that, Maggie is going to the city together with the Frasers. She has to buy a meat for Granny, but when she is back home she has forgotten it. Maggie releases that, she left it in the caf where they stayed a while. She is going back to get the meat and to buy sunglasses and eye make up, then she walks back. But after a while James is picking her up with his fathers car. She is have dinner with the Frasers that evening.

The next day when Maggie wakes up, she smells burnt lamb, she picks the lamb up with a towel and throws it away. Then the Frasers and granny's come. Because Maggie is black on her head and arms she takes a bad in the house of the frasers.

After that James and Maggie are going to shop for dinner. They have prepared the dinner for that evening and everybody found it excellent. After dinner they see that granny's house is burning. James and Peter rescue granny, but her house is totally cleared.

Granny is sleeping in the hospital and Maggie on Catriona's chamber. Maggie father is coming on day to visit them. One evening Maggie notices that Catriona is crying, because she likes to be hairdresser, but her mother wouldn't. They are going to the kitchen to eat something, after a while Peter and James are coming to.

For a few weeks Elizabeth and Maggie are looking for a new home for granny. They find an appartment and James and Maggie are clearing it up. When granny is out of the hospital, they are going to her new home. She likes it. Her neighbours from upstairs and downstairs are coming to visit her, also Maggie's father is coming.

When she brings him back to the station, she mets James. He says that Catriona has run away and his mother is going to get het back. Maggie is going to the house of the Frasers to take care of Peter and James. After a few days Catriona and Elizabeth come back. The next day the Frasers are going to bring Maggie back to Glasgow. When she is back, she hears from her father and mother that they have to move to another house.
