As the years passed, President Hussein ousted the UN weapons inspectors violating the treaty that ended the Gulf War. The world is still waiting for the UN to enforce it's own resolution. There are two ways one of Iraq's hypothesized weapons of mass destruction are going to affect the US is if Saddam knows he has nothing else to lose, if he is on his way out of power and wants to try and launch a missile. The other way Saddams weaponry could affect the US is if he gives a weapon of mass destruction to a soldier of Islamic Jihad who is attempting to destroy the US.
