Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, was one of the most brilliant individuals in history. His interest were boundless and his accomplishments vary upon the line of philosophy, and being a naturalist, politician, scientist, architect, inventor, pioneer in scientific farming, musician and writer. Being the foremost speaker for democracy for his day, he earned the respect of his political peers.

Though all knew he was brilliant, he hismself said, "I know my own principles to be pure and therefore am not ashamed of them. On the contrary, I wish them known and therefore willingly express them to everyone. They are the same I have acted on from the year 1775 to this day, and are the same, I am sure, with those of the great body of the American people. This showed how he kept some of his brilliance to himself. Jefferson as much as any of the Founding Fathers expressed with eloquence the basic principles of our democracy, and the following description applies well to those principles as found in his own writings

The essential principles of our Government... form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation. The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty and safety."

He was a tall and vigorous man, not particularly impressive in person but amiable, once his original stiffness wore off. He was habitually tactful and notably respectful of the opinions and personalities of others, though he had slight tolerance of those he believed unfaithful to republicanism. A devoted family man who set great store by privacy, he built his house upon a mountain, but he did not look down on people. A distinguished architect and naturalist in his own right, a remarkable linguist, a noted bibliophile, and the father of the University of Virginia, he was the chief patron of learning and the arts in his country in his day. And, with the ible exception of Benjamin Franklin, he was the closest American approximation of the universal man.

Canterbury Talesis a novel about twenty-nine characters from all walks of life, coming together to reach a destination.Geoffrey Chaucer portrays each character uniquely. He includes underlying hints about the character and he/she personality traits . The concept of living with others for a period of time to reach a common goal can also be tracedin the Popular television show Survivor Island. The combination of the two stories would produce the idea of a medieval Survivor Island. Out of the twenty-nine pilgrims the, the three most suited for the task are the Reeve, the Clerk, the Squire. The Reeve would be the winner because he is manipulative, he thinks ahead, and he is experienced in the world.

The Reeve has a very sly manner about him. He always gets what he wants but he goes about getting it in a very roundabout sort of way. He is the foreman of a farm, andmakes his living on cheating the lord out of money. Chaucer comments that, no man could find him to be in arrears ().He knew exactly how to figure out what the lord should receive from the farm. The Reeve would simply take the excess and sell it for his own profit ().This deceptive mannerism will help the Reeve win. The Reeve's connivingways will help him over come the other two contestants. The Clerk of Oxford can be easily manipulated by the Reeve. He would much rather have books and materials to help in his studies than to worry about the money that the Reeve may be outsmarting him for.Chaucer emphasizes that, He would rather twenty volumes of Aristotle and his philosophy bound in black or red, at the head of his bed than rich robes, or a fiddle or a lively harp(15).This exemplifies that the clerk's attitude will be more of it doesn't matter who wins but what he takes from the situation. The Squire has a carefree disposition. The squire was much more concerned with what the ladies thought of him. He went on many Calvary expeditions simply to win the love ofa lady (7). The Reeve will deceive the squire simply is too carefree in his ways. Chaucer illustrates that he is carefree by his actions, He sang and fluted all the day long(7).This suggest that the squires motivation on Survivor Island might be carefree and to win the ladies heart. The Reeve is a insidious man who will do whatever necessary to come out on top. He is willing to exploit the others in order to win. These quick-wittedcharacteristics will help him in winning the title of survivor.

Queen Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and his queen, Anne Boleyn. She was born in 15. Roger Ascham very well educated Queen Elizabeth. She was taught many languages, history, rhetoric, and moral philosophy. Elizabeth became fluent in Italian, Greek, French, and Latin. Also, she was brought up in the Protestant faith. Her marriage plans were set early before her, and although she entertained many suitors, she never did marry because she considered herself "married to England." While she was on the throne, she showed a great deal of leadership, and inspired and motivated many people in England. She considered the people's thoughts and interests before she made her decision. She was the monarch of England from 1558 until her death in 160. She was queen for a 45-year period. One of Queen Elizabeth's greatest strengths was that was that she was skilled in communicating with all the types of class of people. She was good at speaking to statesmen as well as the people of England. She was of a high intellectual level, which was difficult for many people to accept. She used this to her advantage in order to make proper decisions for England. The fact that Elizabeth even became The Queen of England was not expected under normal circumstances. The Elizabethan Era lasted from 1558 to 160. Queen Elizabeth has been one of the most successful monarchs for England and the whole world. She was in reign of England for 45 years, until her death in 160. Elizabeth was only 5 years old when she became Queen Elizabeth, the Queen of England. She was known as the "virgin queen" in result of her never marrying. One characteristic of Queen Elizabeth was that she used her femininity to exploit the men who served her. That made them protective of her. Eventually, she became one of the most powerful leaders the world has ever known. When she assumed power, England was weak and poor. There was no standing army, an inefficient police force, and a weak government. Within a few weeks that she became queen, she changed the government and issued proclamations that would change the bureaucracy for good. The queen never seemed to share any of her secrets, not even to her closest advisors. One big part of Queen Elizabeth's reign was that she ruled with her people's love and support. When she made decisions, she did it carefully and justified her actions to her subjects, with speeches and pamphlets. When Elizabeth died, England was at a high of prosperity. This was due to Queen Elizabeth's superior leadership.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on August 8, 16, gave a very powerful speech. It was not only intended for the black community but also for the white. In his speech he speaks about his wish for the future. Dr. King's speech consists of repeated patterns, figurative language, imagery, diction and tone, known as structure. There are also themes and ideas, which is the content.

The structure of Dr. King's "I Have A Dream" speech consists of repeated patterns. In the essay, he emphasizes the fact that 100 years after Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, the Negro is still not free and that "now" is the time to fix injustice. Another example of repeated patterns is when he stresses the fact that he has a dream, togetherness, and letting freedom ring everywhere. Figurative language is also what structure consists of. Such as similes and metaphors. An example of simile and metaphor is when Dr. Kings says that his people won't be "satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream." Dr. King also uses imagery, which is another means of structure. He establishes strong images when he tells his listeners his vision of the United States. Tone and diction are also very important when it comes to structure. In this case, Dr. King shifts his tone and chooses his words. As has been noted, these are the characteristics of structure.

The content entails both themes and ideas. Dr. King emphasizes injustice and that his people need freedom, justice, and equality. In various occasions he also uses the Emancipation Proclamation, Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bible as text reference. His ideas include the dream of blacks and whites being together and of his people being set free. Themes that Dr. King uses are facts like segregation, poverty, and the right to vote. Also the fact that the Declaration of Independence promised unalienable rights of life, liberty, and death only to whites. As I result, content consist of themes and ideas that are mentioned above.

In conclusions, Dr. King's speech indeed was very powerful and was about freeing his people. He not only used structure but also content. As mentioned, structure is repeated patterns, figurative language, imagery, diction, and tone. Content is themes and ideas. Both of these were use in Dr. King's " I Have A Dream" speech. Now that we think of it, hasn't his dream partially come true?

His work depicts a human male facing backwards while sitting on a chair, with his right leg being on the chair. His shadow is depicted on the wall nicely and three cardboards are placed along the wall.

There is a lot of unity in the work by the way the male has been placed at the center of the artists work. The whole work, the shadow, the chair and the cardboards unify the back of the male. On the other hand, there is no clear sign of balance in the work. Although, there is a slight hint of asymmetrical balance if a line can be thought between the male and his shadow on the wall. However, since the male sitting on the chair is placed right at the center this asymmetrical balance is hard to define. There does however seem to be a balance of colors. The artist has used warm colors throughout his work. He has used variations of lightest pink to define parts of the body except his head. Balance can be found by looking at the back of the head of the male, which is black and brown in color and at the floor which is half painted brown in color as well, which makes it look like a carpet. However, the similar color of the carpet and the head in a little darker brown and black gives a feeling of balance in the work as the rest of the body is more or less done in variations of light pink.

The emphasis is clearly on the person, and the larger shadow, the way the chair is placed all add to make the back of the male the focal point of this piece of art.

The directional forces seem to be moving straight from bottom to the top. However, this line is hard to determine and imagine. The ways the legs of the artist are placed implies that he is leaning a little straight forward. Moreover the positioning of his head along with the rest of this upper body also gives the same effect. Especially the ways his head is laid and when compared to the cardboard gives the implication of a line that runs straight from bottom to top. This directional line can also be slightly seen from the fact that the cardboard is not placed exactly against the wall and there is some gap between the wall and the bottom part of the cardboard which suggests a little about the directional line as well. Write your art circle research paper

There is no contrast or repetition and rhythm to be found though, however, there is scale with the placement of the human body as the male can be compared with the chair, his shadow and to the cardboards to some extent.

This work of art is well defined especially the way the artist has seated the male on the chair and the way he has defined the shadow.

Please note that this sample paper on art circle is for your review only. Cognitive development is how and when we develop and use mental abilities through out the life span.

Cognitive development can not be directly measured, therefore because infants brains are not fully mature at birth they are unable to explain their thoughts. This has led many early psychologists to believe that infants were not capable of much thinking.

Swiss psychologist Jean Piaget (186 180) viewed cognitive capabilities of infants in a different way. He proposed that cognitive development occur as we adapt to the changing world around us. He described adaptation as the continuos process of using the environment to learn about the changes that occur in the environment. Adaptation consist of two related processes which he called assimilation and accommodation. Assimilation is the process of taking in new information new information and fitting it into and making it part of an existing mental idea about objects or the world. Accommodation is the process of changing an existing idea in order to fit new information.

Researcher have tested and refined his theories and many current views in cognitive psychology are based on Piaget's theories.

Piaget's theory process that children move through four distinct and sequential stages from birth to adulthood in developing their cognitive abilities.

The first stage, the sensorimotor stage is from birth to two years of age. In this stage infants construct their understanding of the world by coordinating sensory experiences with motor abilities. The key cognitive accomplishment of the sensorimotor stage is known as Object permanence, these refers to the understanding that objects still exist even if they cannot be seen or touched.

The second stage, the Pre-operational stage is from the age two to seven. During this stage the child is increasingly able to assimilate and accommodate ideas.Children in this stage have difficulty in seeing things from another person's point of view.

The concrete operational stage begins at about seven years of age and continues about 1 years of age.

This third stage is when thinking revolves what is known and can be experienced through the senses. Order your Of Mice And Men paper at affordable prices! While John Steinbeck is known for constructing a simple and entertaining

narrative, the allegorical level of morality implied within the text is a major

part of his style. With 'Of Mice and Men' Steinbeck portrays the character of

Slim as God and the other ranch hands as his mortal followers.

Custom writing service can write essays on Of Mice And Men

Consider Slim and his god-like authority over his peers. Slim, the

almighty skinner, is the most respected and admired man on the ranch. His

'ageless face', adept physical ability, and profound equanimity give him

somewhat omnipotent traits. His humble, yet insightful advice beckons all to

stop and take notice, for Slim possesses a divine understanding of human

yearning. As many religious people will profess, "when God speaks all shall

listen", as is likewise with Slim's aphorisms. The other characters follow Slim's

word as law, the way mankind abides by the Ten commandments. But despite

having the admiration of the ranch hands, there is an implied feeling of

fearfulness towards him; the type of fear mankind has toward a vengeful, yet

loving God.

"...better leave Slim alone. Nobody don't know what Slim can do."

- Whit, p.54

As a paragon of true good, Slim rules the ranch and commands worship from his

acquaintances.

If it is Steinbeck's intention to represent Slim as God, it is also his

intention to represent the other characters as God's creations. Could it be more

than coincidence that most of the character's names begin with the letter "C"?

It is with this likeness that Steinbeck is perhaps implying these characters are

equals among each other, like mankind is equal among all his peers. Through

these characters, Steinbeck details makind's faults and tribulations. For

instance, Curley is an envious aggressor; Crooks is oppressed and solitary; Candy

is vulnerable and unwanted; and Curley's wife is promiscuous. With these

characters, Steinbeck makes a generalized statement that mankind is far from

perfect.

While reading 'Of Mice and Men' strictly in a literal level is adequate for

understanding its moral intentions, being consciously aware of the implied

allegory allows the reader to exploit the story to its full potential. Here

Steinbeck details mankind's relationship with God and our imperfections as

people. Even the title of the book can be interpreted as a depiction of

mankind's subservience under the power and will of God; mankind being the

inferior bunch of mice and God being the stronger and more able-bodied man

who rules over everything under him.

ESSAY

Traveling around the world is one of my dreams. I have been trying to get as many opportunities as I can to make it real. One year ago, when I was still in high school, in Indonesia, I joined an exchange program held by my high school and its sister school in Melbourne. I stayed in a city named Swan Hill for four weeks and went to school there. My experience of studying in Australia and getting a lot of new friends is really unforgettable. Two years before, I had been in a home stay program for two weeks in Sydney. Since then, these experiences were not only beautiful past memories, but also a new spirit for me to look for more chances to see and explore the other part of this world.

There are so many reasons that make me have such desire. I am a person who's crazy of learning new things. I want to explore, adventure, experience, and learn more. Having a chance to travel and study abroad has broadened my view and slightly change my personality to be more open. This is a chance for me to learn the different cultures, experience new things, get many new friends, and most importantly for me is to explore the differences to learn the positive sides of the new cultures so that I can put efforts in myself. That is why I want to take this chance to get the DUO-exchange Fellowship.

Europe itself is one of my favorite regions. It has got many great countries like United Kingdom, Holland, France, Germany, etc. Its great history of revolutionary inventions attracts me so much, as I love science. Its people and its different culture than in Asia make me want to know it more. Beside that, people in Europe are very independent, open, and desired to reach glory. They are also very initiative people. These characteristics however have brought them into the stage of great nation. Knowing this fact, I always want to experience its interesting culture and learn it.

Help with essay on my essay

The award will allow me to study and stay in one country in Europe to experience its education, to explore its culture and even to see many beautiful places. It allows me to dream and hope. It will also allow me to go to Europe without expenses from my parents. I believe that studying and living abroad is more than learning and putting efforts in my major. It is one step forward to be part of the world, to learn and explore so that after I experience it, I'll be more than I am now. In fact, this is also the reason why I took a chance to study in Singapore. In a world where the land mass cannot be modified to accommodate more, increasing population and more people demanding more food for less money it may be difficult for some to understand why biotechnology is considered to be something that will destroy the earth. It is a very controversial topic that is growing in interest to all with pros and cons that both sides must acknowledge.

Genetic engineering is scientifically changing foods by altering the foods genetic code. Food is so essential and basic to life and survival. We view food as wholesome pure, and safe. We need to ask ourselves that is the use of biotechnology going to change our perception of food?

There are many factors that we need to take in consideration before giving our conclusion about the issue. In my opinion, genetically engineering will be a good way to increase our crop production. It will be beneficial for the farmers because they would be able to produce crops much faster which will help the economy. It is also good because scientists can pick and choose the crops with the desired characteristics such as, pest and disease resistance, improve nutritional value, good quality and survivability in harsh conditions.

On the other hand there are factors which show that GM foods can be dangerous. First of all, altering the genes of food materials can cause environmental disturbance which can upset people. People who are vegetarians would not want to eat a vegetable that contains an animal gene. With GM food, scientists are adding genes from some organisms that we do not eat which could spark unknown allergies. I think that if GM foods are properly labeled it would be easier for consumers to trace back allergies and it will provide them the information they want. Buy Genetic Engineering term paper

In my opinion, this is more than just a scientific issue because to me it sounds like an interference with the work of nature and creation. The environment I believe is at serious risk, more so when scientists take out genes from animals. They are living, breathing things with a mind, instincts, and impulses. This is mind boggling because no one really knows what will happen to something that's modified and given new characteristics it is not used to. The environment had withstood a lot but nothing to the degree of changing the genetic make up of a species that have existed for years.

We cannot say if genetically modified foods are dangerous for our health without experimentation. It would take time to actually see the effects of genetically modified foods.

The play Julius Caesar took place in Rome. The ruler was Julius Caesar until he was assassinated. The real ruler of Rome should be Marc Antony. Marc Antony has characteristics of a ruler because he has the people on his side. Not only this, but many other characteristics will get him in the throne. Marc Antony should be the ruler of Rome because of his compassion for the people and the good he could bring to the country.

Marc Antony should be the ruler of Rome because he is popular with the people. The first example of this is because he is a respected nobleman. He is higher up than the people and likes Caesar like the people do. The second reason he is popular with the people is because he is a friend with Caesar and everyone liked Caesar until he was assassinated. The third reason he is popular with the people is because he says they will find the conspirators that killed Caesar. The people like him even more for that.

Marc Antony was next in line for ruler of Rome after Caesar was assassinated. The first reason for this is because Marc Antony is the logical choice for ruler. If Caesar is gone then he should rule because he could bring good to Rome. The second reason for this is Marc Antony was always there for Caesar and that shows he would always be there for the people of Rome. The third reason Marc Antony is the logical choice for ruler of Rome is because he is a noble figure and would be a great candidate for a ruler because he is already a highly looked upon person.

Cheap Custom Essays on julius ceasar

Marc Antony should be ruler of Rome because of his compassion for Rome. The first example of this is when he made his speech at Caesar's funeral. He said that Caesar was a great man and shouldn't have been killed and he said that it was wrong that the conspirators killed him. The second example of this is he is a reliable man. He was always by Caesar and ready to help and also plans to find the conspirators. The third example of his compassion for Rome is he is willing to do what has to be done to make things right. Now that Caesar is dead he wants to find who killed him and he wants to get Rome back in order. Caesar's death has caused chaos among the people of Rome and someone has to stop it and Marc Antony is willing to do that.

Rome's need for a ruler makes Marc Antony the right choice. He can establish an organized and peaceful environment in Rome. The play Julius Caesar tells of the tragedy of Caesar's death. Maybe if Marc Antony were the ruler it would have never happened. For these reasons and many more is why Marc Antony should rule Rome.

Philosophy of composition

Writing was never my forte but it is certainly something I enjoy doing.I find the best way for me to write a good paper is pure consistency, to do nothing else besides a few meals, bathroom breaks and short breaks in-between the writing period which may last anywhere from a few hours to days.In that time several things come into my mind, I start with a basic idea which is derived from the nature of the paper I am required to write. In this case it is an effect paper, to touch the reader in some way.So I tackled that aspect first, to find some effect I can bring to the reader within the period of time they have to read.I finally came upon an emotion which we all have felt in our lives but all regret dearly. It is that sorrowful sympathy one feels when some terrible thing has happened. The feeling of utter despair with no hope of recovering. After figuring out what the effect shall be, there has to be a vessel for that effect.A poem wouldn't be as dramatic and a song the same, so a short story suited this idea just fine. Now after setting up in sequence the effect and the vessel I go onto figuring out what should keep this vessel afloat. So I come up with an idea of utter loss where there seems to be no end, then a small relief appears destroy the sorrow, than the remedy is yanked away leaving more sorrow and loss. So now I have my effect, the vessel which shall carry that effect and how the vessel will float so with that in mind I begin writing.

After this initial process of intense thinking and planning the rest is easy as words really do flow through my fingers if I know what I have to write about. As you can clearly see it is broken down into several parts, each taken one at a time. All that is needed is just skeletal frame and filling in the gaps.So words come out of my mind through my fingers into the keyboard and almost as in a trance I write. After writing though is where more precision takes place, where hours upon hours of rewriting and revisions are made. After a few hours of that it is officially declared finished, send to the printer and done with.Buy philosophy of composition term paper

As one can see there is no great secret in my mind on what makes a good paper. Just do something that fits your style and agenda.Writing is like a natural process, you have to go about it true to yourself and write for yourself not for others. The feeling you get when you write must come from within and only when you are true to your writing will it come out the way you want it to.

Please note that this sample paper on philosophy of composition is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. In case you experience difficulties with writing a well structured and accurately composed paper on philosophy of composition, we are here to assist you.Yourpersuasive essay on philosophy of composition will be written from scratch, so you do not have to worry about its originality.

Order your strategic thinking paper at affordable prices !" If strategic intelligence is a business process rather than a function, what are the value-creating steps in that process? How are mental models and data converted into information and knowledge that managers can act upon?

This mainly focuses on the difference between the " process"and " functional" views of

strategic intelligence. In fact, SI in a functionally oriented company is often confined to isolated pools of data. There are many pools of external and internal data, which are only pools of knowledge of specific groups, applying existing mindsets concerning the company's direction and strategies. Due to these facts there are several barriers ore pitfalls to using and sharing SI. In functional oriented companies many managers have adopted a military model for intelligence gathering and handling, confining SI to the top of the organization, instead of meeting the needs of other levels of managers.

In contrary to the functional view, the process view is based on different assumptions. The challenge of the process view is to distribute SI broadly around the whole hierarchy of the management, in order to enhance SI to become part of the company's fundamental culture. To ensure the effectivity and efficiency of the process, converting data into information and knowledge there are six main activities, with each step helping to add value to the the process of SI. In fact, the first one is the step of sensing and identifying appropriate external indicators of change, which is necessary to make the step of collecting data and information efficient. The step of organizing helps to structure the collected information in appropriate forms and media. In order to process the collected and organized data and information, it is now necessary to analyze the information with appropriate tools and methods. The step of communicating tries to simplify the access to information for users. The last step creating value to the process of SI is the correct use of the information, which concentrates on applying information in decisions and actions. Furthermore, each stage can involve general managers, staff and functional specialists, in order to provide an excellent knowledge transfer, based on a maximum interaction between the employees.

In conclusion, to enhance a company's performance in the marketplace it is important to see SI as a process of systematical learning and that a successful implementation of SI strongly depends on the companies' view ofprocess management, its organizing principles, learning styles and values

The task of this eassy it is to do a reading of a 5-7 minutes extract of a film. This eassy is going to be focused on the film Romeo and Juliet. This essay is going to concentrate on why various types of camera shots and sound are used and for what effect. I will briefly discuss the type of mise-en-scene used like lighting, costumes and props used. The scene that this essay is focused on is the scene where Mercutio gets killed.

The scene starts off with an argument between Mercutio and Tybalt. Romeo enters the scene with a very fast panning shot tracking him. This is done to turn the audiences attention away from the argument and to make Romeo seem like a saviour. All the capulets faces are shown with close up shots. The editing is very fast as well. This portrays that they are scared for Romeo and it helps create a sense of danger and enivability. Tybalt calls Romeos name. There's a close up shot of Romeos face for a few seconds. This slows the action down so the audience can get a look at the man in question and it also helps create suspense.

Next the camera is focused on the three main characters faces only. The editing is really clever. There are around 5 straight cut shots in the space ofseconds. This part of the action shows the audience that they are the main characters in this scene and the rest are mear spectators. Then there is a medium shot of Tybalt, by this camera shot the audience gets to see what he is wearing and his gun. The clothes show the audience that Tybalt is very high in status because he has the smartest and most stylish clothes out of all the characters. His gun helps portray the danger throughout the scene. The gun is also in this shot is the first indication to the audience that something major is about to happen.

From the onset the editing is fairly quick and mainly focuses on getting everyone's facial expressions in the shot. This is done to show all the tension in the air. The first half of the extract ends up with Romeos outstretched hand, which Tybalt punches in disgust. Tybalt is enraged by his actions. He lashes out on Romeo. The fight scene has Tybalt shown as the stronger one of the two by high angle shots of him as he beats Romeo, whereas Romeo is shown in a low angle shot. This shows he is the poor helpless one that is trying to do the right thing and that he has less power and status in their society.

Most of the time when you read a book, and then go see the movie there is always something that seems not to fit. However Othello seemed to follow the book very well, setting and characters where well thought out. When I read the book, I saw the images that we always see of Venice around that time, with its canals, buildings, and people. When they made the movie everything seemed to fit very well, nothing really caught me as off. The way that the castle was laid out was very easy to follow and understand where people where. I feel that if gave you a good sense of clarification on all that took place there. One scene where I fell the setting really brought out the emotions of the play was when Othello and Iago where on top of the castle planning to kill Cassio and Desdamona. It just really seemed to fit nicely with the wind and the background, for what was taking place. I really feel that all of the characters where cast excellently, their expressions, and even there voices fit their parts perfectly. Such as Iago, he was basically what I had imagined while reading, his voice and the way he spoke was perfect for the con man he played. The only character that some what confused and surprised me was Bianca. While I was reading I would never have figured she was black, she fit the part very well thought. The close-ups of Iago I fell where there to let you in on all of his thoughts that you would nat have known other wise. I feel that the first cole-up was the best, it basically set the tone for his character and what he was going to do. I feel that the arrangement that was used in the video was a better way of opening the movie. It seemed to be a little easier to follow and make sense of what was happening. I personally did not like the chess pieces, I felt that it was a little too much. Why would Iago carry three chess pieces around with him, it makes no sense. It also seems to interrupt the flow of the movie. One second you have a close up of Iago reviling some of his secrets and his feelings, and the you have some chess pieces setting there. To me it does not flow with the whole movie. The chess piece final scene relates to how Othello and Desdamona are buried at sea. I think that the last scene was ok, but I would not have put it in. I don't think that the burial at sea really had much importance to the rest of the movie. The video makes the handkerchief much easier to follow in my opinion. For me it is easier to remember who had the handkerchief 1 ten minuets ago than who had it twenty pages ago. The movie also reviled the importance of it very well, when Othello confronted Desdamona about it. You could really tell that it was of great importance to him by his actions and tone of voice

Jordan Cashe

When I saw the sixty-foot drop from the top of the ramp, I had never been more terrified in my entire life. My mother and I were at Disney World for the first time, and I was sitting beside her on this monster about to plunge into the waiting waters below. She had surprised me with this trip the summer of my sixth grade year, probably because she had not heard the end of it once my cousin went and told me all about the fun he had. I convinced myself on the plane that I wasn't going to ride with my mom on the roller coasters, all I could think of was flying out of my seat to a certain horrible death. Yet here I was, ready to take the final plunge to the ground so far below. All I could think of was how young I was, too young to pass away this early. I still had so much to do and see.

I rode that roller coaster; I think Space Mountain was the name, at least fifteen more times that day. Never before had I experienced the incredible sensation of flying through the air, twisting and turning, flipping and rolling, I was hooked. I had to be convinced that there was other rides and adventures just as good in different parts of the park. And there was, not just roller coasters either but shows and games and all kinds of great restaurants and stores, even a gigantic arcade.

Even the hotel we were staying in had tons of fun all over the place. It was called the All Star Hotel, and we were staying in the basketball section. There was soccer, football, tennis, golf, and many more with a huge pool in the middle with artificial waves. The second day we were there we went on about a fifteen-minute bus ride to Animal Kingdom. There is only one word to describe this place, wow! The first attraction you saw upon entrance was the Tree of Life an enormous tree with sixty different animals carved into the sides. We went on a safari ride where I photographed lions grazing, tall giraffes munching on tall trees, monkeys swinging from branch to branch, even an underground section with hippos swimming no more than two inches from your nose. Near the tree of life was an amphitheater with a D show of the movie A Bug's Life. There was so much to see and do we couldn't fit it all into one day.

Do my essay on memorable firsts CHEAP !

As it came time to leave, I remember wishing I could run away and work in the park for the rest of my life; I could make a home in the Tree of Life. As it turns out I would visit several more times over the course of my life, but none were quite as fun as that first time, going sixty miles an hour next to my screaming mother thinking we had left the ground never to return, which was just fine by me.

Homer's ideals of life and society differ from the views of today. In the present, people look upon men and women as equal for the most part, while in Homer's day women were below the men in social status. The values of everyday life have changed in these many centuries.Family values have held strong. They were important to people in Homer's time as well as to the people of today.Presently, people are becoming busier and busier with less time for their families, but these values are still held close. When a family member would go off to war, the worries and issues were the same back then as they would be today.A wife would be worried about her husband leaving her alone with children to raise and without a man around the home, much as would be the behavior in the present.

Civilization was another major change. The acts of war were much more severe in Homer's time than they are today. While war is still a gruesome thing, methods of killing people were much more barbaric in the past, usually involving an overly elaborate and exotic death. It seems as though a certain amount of respect in battle has been achieved over the ages.

Both Homer's time and the present deal mostly with the same types of values and ideals, but on different levels.

Ellen's father abandoned her on many occasions, such as when Ellen's mother died. They had a limousine take them to and from the funeral. When the limousine dropped them off at the house, Ellen's father left. "When the smiling man let me and my daddy off in the yard, I thanked him and went inside. My daddy came into the house, got his keys and left.
