Help with essay on Lost in a Daze

On his bed, with his headphones on, the kid lay listening to his favorite Tupac Shakur song, "Mama's Just a Little Girl", from the latest CD "Better Dayz".Fighting as hard as he may, the sleep monster begins to attack, his only defense is singing the words to the song, "…but to ask us why we've turned from bad to worse, is to ignore that from which we've came. You wouldn't ask why the rose that grew from the concrete had damaged pedals. On the contrary, we would all celebrate its tenacity. We would all love its will to reach the sun.Well, we are the roses; this is the concrete; and these are my damaged pedals. Don't ask me why…. Thank God! Ask me how?!"His mind wonders…he falls into a deep sleep while comparing his life to the words of the song.Dreams inevitably interpret the meaning of his life and this song.

He begins to walk along the streets of ghetto, as he nears the corner he notices two of his friends hanging out on the corner. They are holding forty-ounce bottles of Colt 45 Malt Liquor. He sees them but they don't seem to notice him as he turns the corner.

He continues his journey on the long dark streets that seem to have no end in sight. As he comes to the next corner, there are the same two friends, a little older, maybe two years, still hanging out on the corner, this time holding a pint of Jack Daniels Whiskey.Once again he sees them but they don't seem to notice him.

Continuing his journey through the streets of his dream, he sees the same two friends, still on a corner, looking maybe five years older. He gasps as he sees the dope filled syringe they are sharing. He sees them but they don't seem to notice the vexed look on his face.He takes a closer look and realizes that one of their faces is hiding in the shadows of the darkness, while the light blurs the other's face.Haunted, he briskly walks past.

Coming to the end of this long dark journey, the kid sees two shadows in the distance. He feels the need to speak. He speeds up, trying to get a closer, clearer view.Startled to find that they are lying motionless with a needle in their forearm, an empty bottle of Jack Daniels in the other hand, and a bottle of Colt 45 on the ground beside them. They have aged 10 years.

In the distance he hears a soft voice…."honey, its time to go".Closer and clearer…"honey, its time to go".He snaps, its his wife, repeating herself over and over.He realizes he has awakened from a dream. He looks around, remembers he's at the cemetery where his parent's are buried. He places two roses on the concrete and walks hand in hand with his wife towards their car.Same dream.A gust of wind…a damaged pedal floats away.

Brittish Foreign Policy in the 1930's

British Foreign Policy in the 10s is often summed up by one word appeasement. Though this is chiefly remembered because of Chamberlains attitude towards Germany and Czechoslovakia at Munich in 18, the general trend of trying to reduce the international consequences of small disputes and maintain the peaceful balance was evident in Edens policy towards Spain in August 16. The Italian invasion of Abyssinia and in March 16, and the German militarization of the Rhineland were certainly of significance to the Foreign Office since both these right wing Nationalist governments were sympathetic towards Franco (in Spain), so heavy British intervention on behalf of the Republic would lead to a broader crisis. Despite the fact that neither Hitler nor Mussolini were yet capable of fighting a European war the perception was that Britains unreadiness meant that she could not risk a winding of any conflict during the 10's.

Although Hitler and Mussolini were not fully prepared to enter a war they were beginning to form alliances. Mussolini and Hitler worked together under an agreement called the Axis. This was soon changed to a full military alliance known as the Pact of Steel. Germany also signed the Anti- Comintern Pact with Japan. The officially was against international communism but in effect gave Hitler another ally. This however was an interesting Alliance. In Hitler's book "Mein Kampf" he called the Asians and Japanese Sub Human. If he was planning to create a perfect Aryan race why did he have Asian help?

Germany began to expand in the 10's. In 14 the Nazis demanded anschluss with Austria. Dollfuss the Austrian Chancellor stopped this and when Ital complained they backed off. However only a year Later Italy was joining Germany thus giving Hitler a fee hand in Europe. He Reoccupied the Rhineland in 16. During the Spanish civil war he teamed up with Mussolini to help General Franco. In 18 Hitler achieved Anschluss with Austria and in the same year demanded the Sudetanland from Czechoslovakia. Britain and France agreed provided they took no more land. By 1 Hitler had all of Czechoslovakia. Britain now realized appeasement was not working.

Germany had successfully gained two allies and was neutral with Russia. Because of the time Britain had given Germany they had managed to strike many agreements and held the upper hand. If Britain had not had a policy of appeasement maybe they would have fought the war while Italy was still on their side. Thus saving many hundreds of thousands of lives

Spanglish- That curious mixture of English and Spanish is here to stay.

By Alex Johnson

Spanglish is a very interesting idea that many are just beginning to realize. It is so new in fact, that when writing this paper, the word Spanglish comes up misspelled. There are many different theories and opinions on the origin of Spanglish. Some would consider this language was derived from ignorance. They would state that Hispanic people, uneducated or unwilling, combined English and Spanish words in an attempt to communicate. But this theory does not explain the many children in the United States who speak Spanglish.A better understanding of Creole languages is vital for on e to accept and embrace the Spanglish language. This idea that a child can learn two languages simultaneously, and then incorporate those languages in an effort of better expression is amazing.A person who is bilingual will attest to the fact there are some words and expressions that are present in one language that may not be in another.

Spanglish is more than just mixing and matching the English and Spanish languages. It's a cultural idea that one can take the best from both languages and apply that to every day communication.A particular word or phrase in either language may have a greater impact on that person and the people whom they are speaking. That word would then be interjected, thus conveying the speaker's point. For example, if a person says, "Tengo que ir al college to be successful," they may feel that the phrase "Tengo que" conveys a better understanding vice "I have to."This probably stemmed from this person's childhood. As a child, certain words or phrases were spoken more frequently in Spanish resulting in that child's development and use of the Spanglish language.Order custom research paper on Spanglish

It is also important to understand that Spanglish is very regionalized.A person in Texas, for example, may not speak the same form of Spanglish as a person living in California.Different regional and cultural influences mold this language to suit the needs of those speaking it.This also poses the question, "Is there set rules for this language?"Some would say yes. Those that do, have gone as far as trying to document a structurized alphabet. This is very impractical due to the inconsistencies form region to region.

Although Spanglish may never be recognized as an individual language, those that speak it hope one day to see a better understanding and respect form the general population. Many will find that there are many benefits to be had by the use of a Creole language such as this. For children, learning a different language and gaining the ability to blend that language with their own, will increase critical thinking and creativity.Expression will come easier for these children, improving communication nation-wide.

Please note that this sample paper on Spanglish is for your review only. I opened my eyes, not trapping a single thing in the room. Where was I? How did I drop here? I flexed with sweat dripping from my body to bring my hand to my face only to discover that neither arm would move. Frisk anger flooded my senses and moved through my body, building and building like a volcano chasing to explode. Glancing down at my drenched wrists of dripping rivers of blood reminded me of how I'd come to be here. A mixture of blackened emotions overwhelmed me; the fear, the anger, the depression started to flatten me with a mixed and flaunt vague sense of hope that someone might finally be listening. So floods of blur is what suicide watch is like, I thought. The nurses plucked everything from me, my hair binder, my belt, my clothes, anything I might possibly clutch to bruise myself, I suppose. I started to chuckle, I was uncooperative, but knew I didn't need the drug my mom thought was necessary. This was just the flash of an experience that was soon to change or smite my entire life.

Within a week, I found myself in Minnesota, a flee I had never expected to make, a place I had never been before, and with spread relatives I hardly knew. This transition was like a roller coaster of blur, hope, despair, fun, loneliness, and a new family whom I, with stun soon discovered loved me more than I ever thought possible. With this much play, new surroundings to share me a fresh start, a new school, a nice neighborhood of frost, a little cousin to grasp up to me, an aunt who adored me from the day I came, a very funny uncle who had a guffaw, and the beginnings of bloom friendships, how could I not begin to like myself?

My aunt was a big gleam of my recovery. My aunt wrapped herself around me like a lion does her cubs. She protected me, comforted me, forced me to come out of my shell of shame, and she did all of this in a flash that was intense and very new to me. We were like oil and water trying to flirt, but when we connected it was very deep. I eventually started to see that I was a lot like her; we have a lot in common and can have a lot of fun together. We sneaked in a development of a relationship that means swell to both of us. When blur, dark negative thoughts frost over me, she would never let me crawl into myself, she would force me to deal with it, even if it meant staying with me in my room all night. I realize now that this helped me get more in place with my real self, and has given me confidence to say what is on my mind.My aunt has helped me twine with the power of being a strong woman, and how by being my true self has a big impact on my relationships with others and how bloom I feel about myself.

Essay- Racism

Racism is like a disease that cannot be contained or eliminated. It appears in every community on every continent. The spread of racism is triggered by continuous intolerance in the society. Racial discrimination can be as simple as a playground joke to very serious crimes such as murder and rape.

There are many reasons for racism, but they all narrow down to a few main points. The world has hundreds of different nationalities, each with its own tradition and uniqueness. When these races come together and live in a community, differences will occur. These disparities often lead to prejudice.Another factor that contributes to racism is religion. Many people believe religion should be separate from local and world politics, but somehow it creeps in. Fundamentalists are the minority in every religion with a different perspective and often are the ones who cause trouble. For example "At street lights, Muslim women are stopped when crossing and get abused by passing motorists".

Bigotry took place over a hundred years ago and it still goes on today. Over the years, the world has changed with time but racism has failed to alter. Although it is less common in many countries, it has successfully evaded eradication. This is because discrimination thrives on the continuous intolerance in society.People fail to get educated about acceptance and that everyone is of equality. This is the reason why prejudice has continued to spread regardless of the ever-modernising world. Order custom research paper on Racism

Consequences of racial discrimination have alarmed the society. Prejudice can be a simple joke, but this could also lead to serious crimes such as murder. If racist people are not dealt with during their schooling years, when they enter the workforce who knows what trouble and harm they can cause. For example after the September 11 attacks and the start of the Iraqi war " Muslims are too scared to leave home" because they fear racist behaviour from the general public. Another example from the movie A White Man's Burden "How much money do you think is enough? John's dead". This was what the wife of John said when the person offered compensation to her.If a simple racial joke can't be stamped out from the school environment, how can intolerance ever leave the world?

There are many ways of ending social intolerance. The best and most effective way is to educated people to accept and tolerate each other. If there is tolerance in the community then there will be no discrimination. This is why stopping bigotry in school will contribute a lot to the removal of prejudice in the world.

The World has learned from its mistakes and has changed. Without blunders to learn from, there is no change. Racism is a very big mistake and people must learn from that and change their perspective on different cultures. Without discrimination, means a safer world where every one is equal.

Please note that this sample paper on Racism is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. The story "The Chrysanthemums" written by John Steinbeck centers on a lonely woman named Eliza Allen.Eliza was a 5-year-old married woman with no apparent children. She was married to Henry who appeared to be a very stable man and also a good provider but not very attentive. Eliza is a frustrated woman. She is bored with her husband and her life.

I don't think Eliza realized how mundane her life had become until she crossed paths that afternoon with the tinker. It appeared that from the very beginning there was a level of comfort between them.He pretends to be interested in her love for her flowers. He compares her flowers to a quick puff of colored smoke (Steinbeck 88).

There was a masculine edge to Eliza. Her face was lean and strong and her eyes were as clear as water (Steinbeck 84). Her face was eager and mature and handsome (Steinbeck 85). It seems as if she was hiding her femininity. Her figure looked blocked and heavy and she wore a man's black hat and heavy leather gloves (Steinbeck 85).

Elisa suddenly feeling sexy lets her feminine side begin to emerge as she takes off her masculine gloves and hat. She is attracted to the tinker and she reveals herself to him only to discover that her feelings are not reciprocated.Elsa becomes embarrassed and ashamed. She takes on an air of business and offers the tinker two old saucepans to repair. Write your The ChrysanthemumsJohn Steinbeck1902 – 1968 research paper

After the tinker leaves, Elisa goes indoors to bathe. She scrubs herself until her skin was scratched and red (Steinbeck ). By doing this, Elisa is washing away the rejection, humiliation and also the guilt she feels. Elsa needs to shake things up a bit from the usual routine and I believe that longed for the same type of easy exchange with Henry but instead there seems to be a level of formality between them.It also seems to be extremely difficult for Henry to properly pay Elisa a compliment. No just any compliment like that of a friend to a friend, but an admiration an excitement that a husband would feel when he sees his wife all dolled up from head to toe.She put on her newest underclothing and her nicest stockings and the dress, which was the symbol of her prettiness. She worked carefully on her hair, penciled her eyebrows and rouged her lips (Steinbeck ).

As they drive along, Elisa spots the flowers she had given the tinker beside the road. The flowers beside the road shatter Elisas fantasy encounter with the tinker. At that moment Elisa turned and looked at her husband with appreciation and promise. The appreciation of her husband just being himself and the promise of new things to come.

To Investigate the affect of temperature on enzyme activity

Aim of Investigation

I am going to be investigating the affect of temperature on an enzyme called amylase, which can be found in saliva. Amylase breaks down a molecule called Glucose.

BackgroundOrder Custom Enzyme activity paper

Enzymes have completely erased colds, flu, heart ailments and cancer from whole cultures of people as well as whole species of animals. Enzymes have cured so-called incurable diseases including herpes and AIDS. Enzyme therapy has performed other miracles in closely scrutinized clinical studies, providing inexpensive treatment for disease. AMLYLASE It is required to digest carbohydrates into smaller units and eventually converting them into even smaller units (monosaccharides) such as glucose.

Glucose, which is also referred to as dextrose, is a moderately sweet sugar found in vegetables and fruit.

Apparatus

The following Apparatus was used

Amylase Solution

Starch Solution

Thermometer

Reaction Mixture

Glass Rod

Iodine Solution

Dimple tray

Teat pipette

Stop clock

Measuring cylinder

Variables

The amounts of starch and amylase are kept the same throughout. We only change the time and temperature at 5 degrees a time. This was done so it could be considered as a well structured test?.

Prediction

I predict that the more I increase the temperature the faster the process will take place. I also predict that eventually when the temperature rises above that of the standard body heat . degrees it will begin to take longer again until a reaction does not take place as the Enzyme will de-nature because of the high temperature.

Method

I plan to stick to this method

At the start of the experiment a drop of iodine will be placed into each of the dimples on the dimple tray.

Some starch solution and amylase Solution will be mixed in test tubes.

The progress of the reaction will be followed by adding a drop of the solution to one of the dimples in the dimple tray. If any starch is present it will produce a black colour with the iodine it is all starch and has been converted to sugar there is no colour change

His parent's names were Arnold and Sarah Escher.Eshcers family always tried to

and that's all he could and would be.His parents finally acknowledged his artistic skills

and gave him their blessings.

He was a student at the School for Architecture and decorative Arts. While going to

school he realized that he really had a passion for graphic designing. While at school

he managed to master graphic design and woodcutting design. Two things that

interested him immensely.

After school he started to travel. Some of his favorite places were Spain, Southern

France and Italy.Especially the Alhambra in Granada! He visited there on several

occasions. At all of these places he found different and unique inspirations that helped

inspire him to make some of his most loved works of art.Even though he was so great

at what he did he never really considered himself and artist or a scientist, just a regular

man.

I'm March 1; Escher was still traveling in Italy when a Swiss family allowed him to

live with them.Soon Escher fell in love with the daughter of the family, Jetta Umiker.

They were married and remained to live in Italy.Later they found themselves restless

and then moved into a home in Rome. Not long after they had moved M.C.s brother

was killed in a very tragic accident. This was obviously a harsh blow for him.He

stayed strong and with the help from Jetta and his new baby boy George Escher he

pulled through.

M.C. Eshcer was a highly emotional man.He once had a Jewish teacher and he

was very fond of him.He was greatly disturbed during the reign of Hitler. He kept an

imprint of a German boot and made a peice of art in memory of his teacher who was

taken by the Nazi.

M.C. died in March in the year 17.He lived a long and full life.He worked

practically until the day that he passed away.

One of his most well knows pieces are Reptiles. This is a picture of a group of tiny

crocodiles that are crawling out of a tessellation.

It has now be discovered that many of his pieces had mathematical backgrounds in

them.We now call them tessellations!I have made an amateur one of these before and me

can truly say that they are beautiful and unique!Tessellations are basically just

repeated patterns that go on and on.

Escher was a very busy man and was poor of health for a very long time before his

death. He made many continuations not only to the artistic world but also to the

mathematical world!I really enjoyed writing this paper.I think M.C. Escher was a very

strong and determined man who knew what he wanted in life and went for it.he didnt

settle for second best he did what was right in his heart.

The window poses several motifs in the short story,"The Tree''.Throughout the story, you'll notice that Brigida pays a visit to the window every now and then, but what compels her to do so? And is the window just an ordinary window or does it have some hidden meanings behind it? Well, my objective for this essay is to elaborate more upon her intentions, and emphasize on the significance of the window.

With absoluteness, the window depicts itself as an imaginary friend of hers. It acts as a shoulder to lean on for consolation whenever she felt neglected by her husband Luis. Every time she seeks for attachment, she would unceasingly get struck with the same response, "I'm busy. I can't accompany you.. I have a lot to do." (p.8) This of course, aggravates Birgida. It's a fact that all wife's request for love and attention from their husband, and she's certainly not accumulating any. Before the couple burrow themselves to sleep, Birgida would always protest to Luis, "You are never with me when you are beside me." (p.8). It is evident that Brigida's feeling unwanted like outcasts do.

Due to being ignored and rejected, she solicits the window to compensate for the lack of concern and for a slice of euphoria. The window "was enough for her to enter to feel a wonderfully pleasant sensation circulating within her.'' (p.8). As time progresses, she's induced to become intimate with the window. She would "lean for a long time on her elbows at the window." (p.1).This feeling of joy grants her with more gratification than any smiles from Luis, which "she knew was mechanical" (p.).It even kept her eyes "rested, refreshed." (p.8). So to speak, the window provides her with warmth and affection effortlessly, which she digs for in her husband.

Lastly, the window creates a barrier from her to reality. Outside the window stands the tree, which masks the real world and blankets her in the shades. "Children used to play hide and seek among the enormous twisted roots that raised the paving stones of the sidewalk, and the tree was filled with laughter and whispering."(p.1). Unfortunately, she never had the opportunity to take part in the game, but to observe it through the windows. The windows were her eyes to reality. However, she's still shrouded from the public. Figuratively speaking, the room is the prison and the window is the gate to freedom. It blocks her view of the public world. She's prohibited to gain access to the public world unless she departs from her husband.

Cheap custom writing service can write essays on The window

Ultimately, the window accompanies her heart and spirit with enlightenment. A friend it was, or maybe a counselor for happiness. It was the shower that she jumped in to wash away her daily grieves. It provided her the strength endure with a husband who actually turned his back on her in bed, and had given her no children. The window itself, should've been her husband. After all, nothing is impossible.

Please note that this sample paper on The window is for your review only. In order to eliminate any of the plagiarism issues, it is highly recommended that you do not use it for you own writing purposes. Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in Critical Essay On Hamlet, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your Critical Essay On Hamlet paper at affordable prices with Live Paper Help! From the innumerable works of William Shakespeare, Hamlet is one that seems to be written about the most.Being the longest of Shakespeare's tragedies, Hamlet is a work that seems to be full of wisdom and insight, as well as many famous quotes. In 'The Essay of Death An Essay on Hamlet' by G. Wilson Knight, the intricacies of the human emotion as portrayed by the lead character, is described and analyzed. The play aptly provides wisdom and insight into the human emotion and mind, especially when the mind is wrought with suffering and pain.

Very early in the play, we are introduced to the pain that Hamlet suffers from the tragedies that have taken place. In fact, when we are first introduced to him, he is in mourning of his recently deceased father (the King of Denmark). It seems that he is suffering a lot from the loss of his father. In his essay 'The Embassy of Death An Essay on Hamlet", Wilson Knight analyzes this suffering as

" Alone in the gay glitter of the court, silhoutted against brilliance, robustness, health, and happiness, is the pale, black-robed Hamlet, mourning. When first we meet him, his words point the essential inwardness of his suffering".

This quote explains that Hamlet is very upset over his father's death, and shows it by wearing black robes. As the play advances, we realize that Hamlet's pain is not only from the death of his father.Hamlet's mother, Queen Gertrude, decided to marry his uncle, King Claudius, who has taken control of the throne of Denmark. Not only did Hamlet lose his right to throne, but also his own mother betrayed him by marrying her recently deceased father's brother. It is at this point that we fully realize how much pain Hamlet is really going through.Wilson Knight explains that Hamlet has lost his entire sense of purpose, and has given up on his life.

The essay clarifies this misery that Hamlet is feeling because of both his parents. His father, who he was very close to, is dead and his mother has forgotten her husband and married his brother, which Wilson Knight equates to as an act of incest. To add to his current state of chaos, Hamlet encounters the ghost of his father, who tells him that his uncle (the new King of Denmark and now his step-father), was the one who murdered him. This really upsets Hamlet, and makes him to lose his mind.

These major events in Hamlet's life leave him traumatized and clueless as to what he should do next. These problems had a large influence in causing Hamlet to go insane.Although written many years ago, Shakespeare notices the significance of traumatizing events, and how they play a role in a person's sanity.Although in Shakespeare's time there was little known about the human mind and emotion, he had the insight and wisdom to create a play that deals with the effect of traumatizing events on the human mind.

For these reasons, I decided that PWC needs to follow these certain actions to ensure the success of Knowledge Curve.

Increase KC's promotionThe Communication department should continue their campaign effort, concentrating more on areas that are not familiar with KC.

Designed incentives to encourage employees to use KC, such as new compensation and review measurers. The review of the consultants¡¦ performance should not only be based on the amount of business they bring into the company, but also by the contribution they are providing to KC's content. Moreover, their willingness to mentor others to facilitate tacit knowledge transfer should be a crucial aspect to consider.

Grandma, the name her grandchildren lovingly bestowed upon her, is petite, barely stretching to reach five-feet two inches in height. She has light brown hair touched with wisps of gray. Her expressive brown eyes are framed with glasses that she selects when it is time for new ones. She is the mother of five children and the grandmother of ten grandchildren. As she is an independent, self-reliant, and proud woman, Grandma has been a widow for seven years but still lives alone in her own home. She is a fantastic cook and enjoys feeding others, especially her family. She is a natural-born shopper, but buys mostly for others. Her generosity is simply overwhelming. Her family is cautious when talking about anything they would like to have because if she overhears, she will go and buy it for them.

My grandmother's choice of a career exemplified her compassion; she became a registered nurse and worked in the field until her first child was born.Though she chose to stay at home and be a full time mom, she never stopped caring for those in need. She has kept her nursing skills intact by caring for many people throughout the years. She runs errands for just about everybody. She has carried her grandchildren and their friends to school, church, or other places many times.Sometimes this act of kindness was due to a real need because their parents were working. However, often times it was just because she wanted to take them. When I was young, there were numerous occasions when my grandma picked me up early from daycare just so she could spend time with me.It was her way of making me feel special, and that is just what it did!She extended this feeling by attending my track meets, football games, and other programs in which I participated. The fact that she did the same for the rest of her grandchildren makes her all the more amazing.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

1-168

Martin Luther King, Jr. led the new organization, The S.C.L.C. (Southern Christian Leader Conference)that pledged to use non-violent resistance in it's protests. Non-violent resistance required that protesters never resort to violence, even when others attached them.M.L. King called it,"meeting the forces of hate, with the power of love."M. L. King, Jr. started to embrace some of the Black Power movements ideals, such as the need for African Americans to gain economic power.King was upset that funding that should have gone for the War on poverty was being used for the war in Vietnam.

In 155, a boycott led by Martin Luther King, Jr. that arose from Rose Parks refusal to sit in the back of a bus and her arrest, ended segregation on buses in Montgomery, Alabama. For almost a year, hundreds of African Americans in Montgomery refused to ride the buses. King's success in the Montgomery bus boycott made him a national civil rights leader. His sermons and speeches won both black and white followers.King based his ideas of non-violence on the Bible's teaching "love your enemies" Martin Luther King is known for giving many speeches, but the one he gave in Washington, D.C. on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on August 8, 16 is his most famous entitled, "I Have A Dream.

Almost 50,000 Americans gathered to hear speeches, songs and prayers. Here is an excerpt from the speech by Martin Luther King, Jr., on August 8,, 16.

I Have A Dream

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed."We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal….

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character…

This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning."My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old.Negro Spiritual, "Free at last!Free at last!Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

On April 4, 168, while in Memphis, Tennessee, Martin Luther King was assassinated by a sniper that killed him within hours.

The impact that this man had racism and the his inspiring words that propelled people to struggle for their rights would live on and continues to live on.Martin Luther King's wife, Coretta Scott-King, Rev. Jesse Jackson and many others, continue to carry the legacy of the movement.

The production chose to interpret the play in a gothic form by the use of dark settings and costumes. The play was most entertaining in a serious context; it was not to be taken lightly.Rather it helped me to analyse society today and how unreal this play may have seemed, it is closer to society than what people would think. The director contributed to the production by the character positioning on stage and the wonderful use of simple lighting. The audience reaction to the play was varied. Many enjoyed the performance while it was not to others tastes.I believe many people were uncomfortable with a subject such as the selling of body organs.Throughout the performance, most audience members seemed highly engaged and interested.

The voices in the performance were very clear and easy to understand. At times the seemed slightly rushed, resulting in some difficulty to interpret what they were saying. The play only used minimal props, just enough to let the audience identify with the scenery. The majority of the play was based inside a house, this was shown by a table with pots and pans. The costumes were very basic with barely any changes. The makeup was also very basic, the only characters that had noticeable makeup were the scientists and Jeetu. The scientists merely had pink surrounding their eyes to make them appear different to the other characters.Jeetu had very dark, smudged makeup surrounding his eyes to compliment his full black costume, and bad attitude. The use of lighting was very effective and essential to the overall outcome of Harvest. The majority of the play was dark with the use of spotlights on the characters speaking. The spotlight was also used to imitate a video camera through out.Pink lighting was used for the character of Ginny was used to make her appear in another world (America) to those on the stage as she was suspended from the room on a swing. Two smoke machines were placed either side of the stage.During each scene change the smoke machines would turn on to create a mystical effect.

This play was based on the broad topic of global trade in third-world body organs to rich nations.I would highly recommend it for others to see.I found this play intellectually satisfying, as the audience was constantly required to analyse the actors to understand the storyline. The strengths within the play were the lighting and costumes as well as the actors' voices. The weaknesses were the excess use of smoke made it difficult for the audience to see at times and became irritating and the poor conclusion to the play itself was disappointing. It must be mentioned that the performance was highly entertaining and most satisfying. After watching this play I have found an appreciation for live theatre and wish to see more university performances.

The Cumberland Valley had suffered the ravages of the marauding Indian allies of the French since the disastrous defeat of General Braddock in 1755 at the Battle of Monongahela. The new British government of William Penn had decided to make a major effort to drive the French out of North America and identified Fort Duquesne (near Pittsburgh) as one of the key objectives of this effort.A major supply depot was established at Carlisle Barracks in 1758 to support the expedition of General John Forbes, which successfully took Fort Duquesne later that year. The backbone of the Forbes Expedition was a battalion of the Royal American Regiment that was trained and led by Swiss?born mercenary Colonel Henry Bouquet.

Colonel Bouquet began the long tradition of Carlisle Barracks as an educational post in 1758 when he began instruction in Indian fighting.Light infantry tactics that he developed in the wake of the Braddock defeat were to prove to be quite effective, and would establish Colonel Bouquet as one of the foremost Indian fighters of the colonial period.Following the fall of Fort Duquesne, he was charged with protecting Cumberland Valley and keeping open the supply line to the newly built Fort Pitt.

The rebellion of Chief Pontiac and his confederation of Ottawa, Shawnee, Algonquin, and Seneca tribes struck the west in 176.Within weeks, every post to the west of Carlisle Barracks except Detroit, Fort Niagara, and Fort Pitt had been lost.Colonel Bouquet left Carlisle Barracks, jammed with panic?

Bouquet again moved westward from Carlisle Barracks to force the Indians to make peace and free hundreds of white captives.

Baz Luherman¡¯s film, Strictly Ballroom was a huge success and in today¡¯s discussion I will be focusing on the acting components of the film. The performance of the actors will be carefully analyzed in terms of their body language and movement. The actors¡¯ charisma on screen will also be looked at by focusing on the central characters and then the minor characters.

The body language plays a crucial roll in the sense that it shows the audience the affection that Scott Hastings (Paul Mercurio) and Fran(Tara Morice) have for each other. In the scene where they dance behind the Coke sign, they use their bodies to express their admiration for each other. Their eyes are locked together throughout the scene. Moreover, they talk together through their eyes telling each other how they really feel. Their acting is so realistic that audience can actually feel the love between them. They both have a subtle smile on their faces.

Although when they dance their movement is choreographed, they performance make it seem as of they are moving and improvising by following their feelings. It is almost as if the two bodies are combined as one. With their well coordinated movements they evoke sense of gracefulness and awe for the audience.

In the scene when Scott is disqualified at the Pan Pacific Grand Prix, it highlights the Scott¡¯s charm by appearing with a golden glitter coat with a hint of Spanish culture when he slides on his knee to take the pose to dance with Fran, it seems to defy the laws of physics to emphasize his gracefulness as a dancer.

Initially, Fran had no sex appeal until the end of movie. She was seen as an unattractive loner. Furthermore the fact that she is of Spanish origin categorizes her as an ethnic minority. However, through the progress of the film, her true inner beauty is gradually revealed. Her transformation begins when Scott takes off Fran¡¯s glasses; she blossoms into a dancing queen

Minor character¡¯s roll was to over exaggerate a typical villain¡¯s personality. Barry Fife () is the two faced manipulator. He seems very superficial and matches the villains that appear in cartoon. In terms of body language his hands are always hidden behind him to stir up a sense of him always wanting to hide something and also his face is accompanied by a twisted smile and laughter with a condescending tone.

The scene when Fran was crying behind the red curtain Scott comes up and right at that moment the audience can see that Scott¡¯s feeling sorry for Fran because Scott is avoiding eye contact. Her body language shows in the scene, she faces away from Scott although they are locked in arms thus telling the audience that she is still upset.

The film as a whole with all the elements mentioned above creates a very visual cinematography with exceptional acting. The acting component is the essence that brings the characters to life and also conveys a humble experience for the audience.

Order your Proffesors should be givin the right to say what they want paper at affordable prices with Live Paper Help! After reading the article about the Saint Xavier University suspending professor, Peter N. Kiresten for his reply to an e-mail I completely felt that the president, Richard A Yanikoski was in the wrong. I do not feel that the professor did any harm to the University for his Reply to the e-mail.

The Cadet from the Air Force Academy sent the e-mail out with the intention of receiving a reply. He especially target Professor Kiresten as on of the many that would receive his e-mail. Professor Kiresten gave the cadet the reply he was looking for. The cadet didn't ask to be treated nicely in his replies. He sent an e-mail stating a certain point of view and professor Kiresten sent a reply stating his point of view.

The University suspended professors Kiresten because they said that his reply to the e-mail reflected the opinions of the University and made the school look bad. Even though He used his own personal e-mail account to reply to the e-mail.

I could see if the professor used his school e-mail account to reply that how it my have been seen as a reflection of the school, but not his personal account. His personal account is in no way linked to the University and is a free medium for communication. So therefore he should not be punished for this act.

I feel that professor Kiresten did the right thing by using his personal e-mail account. By using his personal account he was signifying that the replay was his own personal point of view and in no way linked to any other affiliation.

In higher forms of education teachers are given the right to teach their own religious and political views. So why should they be limited to what they can profess as their personal views outside the classroom too.

I would have to agree with professor Alan Charles Kors, a professor at the University Pennsylvania when he stated " If [Saint Xavier's interpretation of academic freedom] were applied to all members of the faculty in all matters of public contentionwar and peace, abortion, gay rights, civil rights, affirmative actionyou could punish a very high percent of the faculty." He went on to say, "It is bad enough that we have political correctness from the left," he continued. "We certainly don't need a new wave of it from the right. Silencing people is never a solution." It would only be fair to punish all of the other faculty members for expressing their personal points of view as well.

All in all I feel that the University did not have good enough grounds to suspend professor Kirstein and that the professor should receive some sort of repayment for the trouble and pain he had to go through.
